Shots In The Dark: Silence on Vaccine
Following the increase in cases of autism and other immune disorders among some particularly vulnerable people, several recognized specialists are questioning the safety of large-scale vaccination. Despite the serious side effects, pharmaceutical companies, the medical profession and government authorities continue to bury their heads in the sand, refusing to see a serious problem. In Quebec, the United States and France, as in most industrialized countries, victims are almost without recourse despite the high toxicity of substances such as mercury and aluminum contained in vaccines. With this hard-hitting documentary, Lina B. Moreco highlights a very worrying public health problem.
Since they were introduced in the early 20th century, vaccines have been a tremendous medical and scientific success. Today perceived as a necessity, they are so familiar to us that their potential risks are rarely mentioned.
However, the stakes are significant. Based on recommendations of health agencies, North American children receive about 48 doses of 14 different vaccines before the age of 6 — double the amount prescribed 25 years earlier. Despite this extraordinary increase, few studies independent of the pharmaceutical industry have been conducted into their long-term side effects. This is a disturbing situation given the numerous toxins, including mercury and aluminum, contained in some commonly administered vaccines.
Several worried pediatricians and scientists are sounding the alarm. Some of the research underway indicates that vaccination is directly responsible for immune or neurological disorders among certain people genetically or neurologically predisposed to react badly to vaccine components. Cases of autism, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, macrophagic myofasciitis, encephalitis, paralysis and neuropathies indicate the seriousness of the situation.
Despite these findings, the pharmaceutical industry and government authorities deny there is a serious problem. Relying on perfunctory studies, some of which date back to the late 1920s, they reject out of hand any cause-and-effect relationship. Given the known fact that adding preservatives such as thimerosal (mercury) helps reduce production costs, the reaction of the pharmaceutical industry is at the very least puzzling. Preferring not to question a system that has proved its worth, a majority of the medical profession’s members reject any potential toxicity in vaccines.

Dr. Andrew Wakefield takes legal action against Brian Deer, BMJ and Godlee
The scandal involving Dr. Andrew Wakefield’s case study research into the link between the combination measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism may go down as one of the biggest cases of malicious fraud in history — but such fraud was not committed by Dr. Wakefield. In a new lawsuit, Dr. Wakefield is seeking to recover exemplary damages for the heinous libel, slander and defamation committed against him by the British Medical Journal (BMJ); Dr. Fiona Godlee, BMJ‘s editor; and pseudo-journalist Brian Deer, all of whom have worked tirelessly to destroy his life and career throughout the past year.
The lawsuit, filed in Travis County, Texas, District Court, names BMJ, Godlee, and Deer as the defendants for having maliciously published deliberate lies about Dr. Wakefield’s 1998 case study paper that was published in The Lancet back in 1998. These lies, which officially began their spread back in early 2010 when Dr. Wakefield’s paper was forcibly retracted, include falsely accusing Dr. Wakefield of fabricating and manipulating research data, and using autistic children for his own personal gain (http://www.naturalnews.com/031211_Andrew_Wakefield_BMJ.html).
BMJ first published Deer’s “investigative” hit-piece on Dr. Wakefield, entitled Secrets of the MMR Scare: How the Case Against the MMR Vaccine was Fixed, back on January 5, 2011. This was followed by several corresponding editorials written by Godlee that were published just a few days later.
Within days, these vaccine industry-funded slam pieces snowballed into a worldwide slander-fest against Dr. Wakefield, which included several appearances by Deer on CNN’s American Morning show and Anderson Cooper’s 360 show, where he had the audacity to call Dr. Wakefield a “determined cheat.” So not only did BMJ knowingly publish lies against Dr. Wakefield, but Deer traveled the world spreading them as well.

Evidence suggests hard-to-find raw camel milk may improve autism symptoms
After observing considerable improvement in her own son’s autism symptoms through the integration of raw camel milk into his diet, author and journalist Christina Adams is now convinced that this unconventional food delicacy holds much promise in treating autism. Writing for Autism File, Adams offers a wealth of empirical evidence showing that camel milk can help to increase motor skills, improve eye contact, and ease inflammation and gastrointestinal disorders in autistic children, which can greatly improve their human abilities and quality of life.
Because it does not contain casein or lactoglobulin, two allergenic components found in cow milk, camel milk is not problematic for autistic children, nor does it exacerbate their condition in any way. On the contrary, camel milk’s unique composition of vitamins and minerals, protective proteins, and immunoglobulins (Igs) appears to aggressively mitigate symptoms of autism in a way not typically associated with consumption of others forms of milk.
Dr. Reuven Yagil, a veterinarian and expert camel farmer who first wrote about camel milk’s ability to treat autism symptoms in a journal-published study, believes that autism spectrum disorders do not necessarily originate in the brain as most people think they do. He and a growing number of other experts in the scientific community, in fact, say that autism for many people is actually an immune response that manifests itself primarily as gastrointestinal inflammation.
“Autism is not a brain affliction but an autoimmune disease afflicting primarily the intestines,” Dr. Yagil is quoted as saying by Autism File. And Dr. Amnon Gonenne, an American-Israeli scientist that helped pave the way for Adams to discover the benefits of camel milk for her autistic son, agrees, noting that one of the key mechanisms of camel milk is to ease this inflammation and help rebuild intestinal health.

Genetically Modified Food and Autism – Is There A Connection?
A diagnosis of Autism can be one of the most devastating diagnoses a parent can hear. At best, children with high functioning autism are able to lead, with limited social skills, somewhat normal lives. At worst, children diagnosed with Autism will never be able to function in society. The toll placed on the families and society is staggering. Statistics in the United States report that 1 in 110 children have Autism today and this rate is expected to rise.
There are several factors researchers have looked at in attempting to uncover the cause of Autism, such as genetics and infections. Many researchers believe that the cause of Autism stems from environmental factors such as vaccines and mercury. One environmental factor that does not get a lot of attention is the ingestion of genetically modified (GM) crops. Jeffrey Smith’s recent article entitled Dangerous Toxins from Genetically Modified Plants found in Women and Fetuses brings to light the idea that a possible cause of Autism is the Bt (Bacillus thuringiensis) toxin found in patented, transgenic corn and cottonseed crops. Smith, Director of The Institute for Responsible Technology and bestselling author, connects the dots between the evidence of toxicity of Bt and the severe immune, neurological, digestive, dermatological, and cognitive problems found to be associated with it.

DHA used in infant formula products comes from genetically modified algae
(NaturalNews) One of the most vulnerable segments of the population — infants — are being affected as chemical giant Martek Biosciences uses cronyism to have its patented GMO products classified as organic. The National Organic Program is trying to correct this, but in the meantime the “organic” infant formula or baby food parents feed their children could contain industrial Frankenfood.
History of Irresponsibility
The story of how this state of affairs came about reveals much on how politics and profit can undermine food safety. Here’s a timeline on how the word “organic” is being undermined, creating a health threat for babies who are fed with formula.
2002: Food manufacturers begin supplementing infant formula and baby food with synthetic forms of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (ARA). These polyunsaturated omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, naturally present in breast milk, are important components of the human brain and eyes. Although the form of DHA/ARA used in infant formulas is structurally incompatible with the form found in human milk, food manufacturers market their products with the claim that their formulas will make babies more intelligent.
2006: In spite of the fact that its synthetic DHA/ARA is from laboratory-grown fermented algae and fungus through the use of hexane, a petroleum by-product and EPA-identified neurotoxin, Martek applies for organic status for its products. The USDA’s National Organic Program (NOP) tells Martek its synthetic DHA and ARA does not quality as organic. Martek attorney J. Friedman ignores the decision of NOP staff and contacts NOP director Barbara Robinson to have the decision reversed.
2009: A front page Washington Post article, “Integrity of Federal ‘Organic’ Label Questioned” uncovers the Martek story. The article quotes Martek’s lawyer saying “I called Robinson up, I wrote an e-mail. It was a simple matter.”
2002-2010: Parents and medical professionals observe reactions in babies fed with products containing Life’s DHA, the product name Martek gives its patented GMO version of naturally occurring fatty acids. The range of infant health problems includes difficulties breathing and gastrointestinal disorders. When affected babies are no longer fed the formula, the ailments disappear. Although Freedom of Information Act requests reveal hundreds of FDA adverse event reports, the FDA is slow to react.
2011: FDA announces it will investigate claims that DHA/ARA infant formulas support brain and eye development. The National Organic Program is now trying to remedy its 2006 decision by asking Martek to formally ask permission of the NOP’s National Organic Standards Board to use its DHA and AHA in organic products.
